Welcome from the Headteacher

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Dereham Neatherd High School.

This is a school that I am proud to serve as Headteacher. We are a welcoming, happy and inclusive community. Pupils enjoy coming to school here and they thrive because of the care and support they receive every day from our hardworking and dedicated staff.

Our school motto is ‘Learning Without Limits’ and it reflects our commitment to ensuring that every young person in our care is able to be the best they can be. We help them to learn new knowledge, develop key skills and understand the world around them. With our expert teaching and support, our pupils achieve great exam results that prepare them for their next step in life – in 2025, our results were in the top 30% of schools in Norfolk. Beyond the classroom, our excellent personal development work means that every pupil can benefit from a wide range of trips, clubs and extra-curricular opportunities designed to suit all interests.

Our school values sit closely with my own philosophy of how schools should serve their pupils, parents and the wider community. We are kind and compassionate. We believe that hard work is the key to success. We are polite and respectful towards everyone. We show integrity by understanding what is right and wrong, and making sure we do the right thing. We show fairness by welcoming every member of our school community, regardless of their background, and supporting them to overcome any barriers they may face.
