I am Mrs Gormley, the Head of Year 11. My job is to look after year 11s in their final year here with us at Neatherd. This involves monitoring their progress, as well as their behaviour. Part of my job is coordinating the yearbook, rewards, end of year celebrations and the prom.
Year 11 can be an overwhelming year, with talk of exams and life after school. To ease this transition, I have created a bespoke assembly rota, which involves equipping the year 11s with the tools they need. We have lots of outside speakers, including Easton College, the UEA, NCS, the Navy and many more. Along with this, we utilise the best of our staff to deliver sessions on revision skills and coping with stress. Mrs Hall does mindfulness each Wednesday form time for Year 11s to help with calming techniques.
With the vast amount of support available to them, I hope Year 11 take the year by the horns and do their very best.
