Year 9 Madder Market Theatre Trip

Dear Parents / Carers,

Year 9 Madder Market Theatre Trip for Much Ado About Nothing

As part of the study of English Literature in Year 9, we are hoping to take students to see a theatrical production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Madder Market Theatre in Norwich. The purpose of this visit is to enhance students’ learning and understanding of a Shakespeare play that we will be studying in class. Students will be taken by coach to the theatre, in Norwich where they will enjoy an evening performance.

Students participating in the visit will leave school at 6.30 in the evening of Thursday 26th September and should return by 11.00pm for collection. Students will not need to wear school uniform and we recommend that they have something to eat before they leave for the trip.

We will be offering 64 places on a first-come-first-served basis. The deadline for signed consent forms and payment is Friday 20th September, 2019.

The cost of this trip is £20 per student towards the cost of transport, insurance and the ticket. Payments should be made via our online system, ParentPay by Friday 20th September.  Those choosing not to use this system should make cheques payable to Dereham Neatherd High School and take them to the Finance during Thursday morning break (11.10am-11.25am) by Monday 16th at the latest (please note Thursday is the only day we can receive cheque payments and cash can no longer be accepted).

In response to LEA guidelines regarding educational visits and journeys, we require parental consent for your child to take part in this visit. For this trip consent can be given via your ParentPay account. In the notes box, on ParentPay, you will need to enter an emergency contact number for the evening in question and also any medical details.  Please ensure that this information only is entered.  If you are unable to use your ParentPay account to give consent or parental contribution please contact the finance office to obtain a paper copy of the consent which will need completing, signing and returning by the16th September.

Please note that your son/daughter will not be able to take part in this trip unless consent is completed in full via ParentPay or by paper form and returned by the closure date.

If you have any questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the English department.

Yours sincerely,

Ms G Costenbarder
