Year 7 Normandy Trip July 2018
Dear Parent/Carer
Year 7 Trip to Normandy, France – 9th to 13th July 2018
Thank you for the payments you have made towards the Normandy trip. The final payment of £100 is due by April 27th. This can be made via our online system, ParentPay. Those not using ParentPay should make cheques payable to ‘Dereham Neatherd High School’, with the pupil’s name written on the back, and taken to the payment collection area (outside Business 1) during Thursday morning break (11:10-11:25 am).
As part of our risk assessment, there is a Parent Information Evening on June 7th, which we request all parents and guardians attend (5.45-6:30 pm in the School Canteen). We will use this meeting to provide you with more information regarding the itinerary, travel arrangements and accommodation, and to answer any questions that you may have at this stage. The contents of the meeting and information for both pupils and parents, along with your support, are vital for successful and safe trips.
Due to the high number of pupils going on the trip and limited space available, we would ask that only parents attend the meeting where possible. A separate meeting during the school day will be held for students. If this causes childcare issues, then we will accommodate you at the evening.
We have attached the Parental Consent form which also needs to be completed, signed and returned as soon as possible but by Friday, April 27th. Any information regarding medical details and dietary information are needed by the tour operators and staff in order to provide the best care for your child. Please ensure these are handed in on time with all relevant information provided. Should anything change, please inform Mrs Lambert and the form will be amended.
In addition, we will be requesting that all pupils hand in their passports and EHIC cards by June 8th, the week straight after May half-term. These should be handed in to the MFL office or can be brought to the meeting. The passport should be valid for at least three months after travel (i.e. expiry after October 2018). If your son/daughter does not already have his/her passport, an application should be made now and may need to be expedited. Please also check the expiry date of the EHIC card. These can be renewed or ordered easily on line at www.ehic.org.uk.
I look forward to meeting you on the 7th of June.
Yours sincerely
Mrs J Lambert
