Neal Shusterman

Dear Parent/Guardian

We are delighted to be able to host award winning American author Neal Shusterman on Wednesday 5th December  to talk about his vast and successful writing career and discuss his new book ‘Dry’ to Year 10 students during P5.

Neal Shusterman is hugely popular in America as a renowned successful novelist, screenwriter and television writer.

Shusterman’s novels always deal with topics that appeal to adults as well as teens, weaving true-to-life characters into sensitive and riveting issues, and binding it all together with a unique and entertaining sense of humour.

His latest novel, ‘Dry’, is a harrowing story of survival when the reality of a California drought escalates to catastrophic proportions leaving one teen forced to make life and death decisions for her family.  This book works so well because the concept is so relevant and believable, you find yourself reaching for a glass of water as the words evoke the need to drink, to enjoy the simple commodity we all take for granted. It will particularly appeal to those who enjoy dystopian novels and students studying GCSE geography.

Books will be available to purchase at a special discounted rate of £5.00 courtesy of Waterstones Norwich and can be pre ordered from Mrs Gill to ensure a signed copy on the day. We have found that many students after hearing an author speak/read from their book are keen to own a signed copy and are left disappointed if they have not brought cash on the day, especially such a powerful and engaging speaker as Shusterman.

We hope your child will enjoy this fabulous opportunity.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Gill
