English literature theatre trip
Dear parents/carers,
Watermill Theatre production of Macbeth – Thursday 17th October 2019 at 2.30pm
Your son/daughter will start their GCSE English Literature course when they move into Year 10 after the summer holidays. As part of the course, we are hoping to take students to see the Watermill Theatre production of Macbeth at the Theatre Royal in Norwich. The purpose of this visit is to enhance students’ learning and understanding of a key GCSE text. Students will be taken by coach to the Theatre Royal in Norwich where they will watch the performance.
Students participating in the visit will leave school at 1.15pm and return at 6.00pm. Students will need to wear school uniform. All students should be able to have lunch at school before we leave.
We will be offering 95 places on a first-come-first-served basis. The deadline for signed consent forms and payment is Monday 24th June.
We ask for a parental contribution of £15.50 per student towards the cost of transport, insurance and the ticket. Payments should be made via our online system, ParentPay by Monday 24th June at the latest, but those choosing not to use this system should make cheques payable to Dereham Neatherd High School and take them to the finance office during Thursday morning break (11.10am-11.25am) by Monday 24th June at the latest (please note Thursday is the only day we can receive cheque payments and cash can no longer be accepted).
In response to LEA guidelines regarding educational visits and journeys, we require parental consent for your child to take part in this visit. For this trip consent can be given via your ParentPay account. In the notes box, on ParentPay, you will need to enter an emergency contact number for the day in question and also any medical details. Please ensure that this information only is entered. If you are unable to use your ParentPay account to give consent or parental contribution please contact the trip leader to obtain a paper copy of the consent which will need completing, signing and returning by the 24th June. Please note that your son/daughter will not be able to take part in this trip unless consent is completed in full via ParentPay or by paper form and returned by the closure date.
If you have any questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the English Department.
Yours sincerely
