Change to Rewards Trips
Based on feedback from pupils, who attended the trips last year, parents and staff we have decided this year we will fully fund smaller rewards events over the next few weeks for selected pupils instead of the rewards trips calendared for the 23rd July 2018. In previous years parents/carers have been required to fund these trips. Coming on the back of a week of activities, many of which are funded by parents/carer, we feel this is an unreasonable burden on home finances.
The reward events this year will be based upon achievement points, AtLs and attendance. We have opened our Success Shop this week where selected students were able to exchange their ATL balance points for rewards such as books, vouchers and sweets. The Success shop will be opening again before the end of term. In addition selected pupils in each year group have been invited to attend celebration gatherings for outstanding attendance along with small trips for pupils with the best AtLs in each house. We feel that this fully funded and bespoke programme of events will allow the maximum number of pupils to receive a reward. We are also continuing to hold our end of year presentation assemblies on the last day of term.
The newly appointed Head People and House Captains will be working with us to look at rewards and how they are provided as we would like these events to be far more regular and valued by pupils. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear from you on office@neatherd.org
