Student Leadership

In Year 9 and Year 10 students can apply to be prefects. In order to do this they complete an application form outlining their qualities that they feel would make them a good prefect, citing both examples from both inside and outside of school.

Form tutors are part of the process too – they will support students in becoming a prefect by adding information to their application form, in consultation with their Attitude to Learning data.

Obviously Prefects need to be positive role models around school, both in lessons and in community time.

Our current Head Boy is Hector Frith and our Head Girl is Katherine Thomas. Our House Captains are Amberley Wright, Mikyla Oswick, Katie Lockhart and Maisie Jessop in Year 10, and Lauren Matwij, Charlotte Wells, Grace Rafferty and Emma Leigh Beamis in Year 9.

Head People section:

Prefects are all potential head people. In the summer term, interested prefects speak in their House assembly, and students are asked to vote for four students whom they feel have suitable qualities for the role of Head People. Staff will also vote. Those students with the highest number of votes will be asked to write a letter of application to the Head Teacher and will be asked to attend an interview. At the interview will be Mr Smith, Miss Manning, Mrs Jacobs and the Head of House . Following on from this the Head Boy and Head Girl, and House Captains will be decided.
