Student Leadership
Year 10 and 11 students can volunteer to become a part of the Neatherd Knights. The Knights are a student led anti-bullying and peer support group. Year 10 students are recruited to perform duties during community times where Key Stage 3 students can go and speak to a Knight about any problems that they may have. Year 11 Knights are Senior Knights and work closely with Year 7 form groups and during the transition to support Year 6s moving up to High School. Both Year 10 and 11 Knights meet weekly with Mr Stek.
The Neatherd Knights are expected to be positive role models and adhere closely to our school values. Once Knights are trained they are awarded their badge in Year 10 and then their red tie when they become a Senior in Year 11.
Liliana Cott is our current Knight Captain. Our current Head People are Amber Aitkin and Sophie Wild. Our Senior Pupils are Rosie Lockley, Tobias Cheesebrough and Keira Page. All of which are Senior Knights.
Head People section:
Neatherd Knights are all potential head people. In the summer term, interested Knights speak in their Year assembly, and pupils are asked to vote for four pupils whom they feel have suitable qualities for the role of Head People. Staff will also vote. Those pupils with the highest number of votes will be asked to write a letter of application to the Head Teacher and will be asked to attend an interview. At the interview will be Mr Mallett, Miss Manning, Mrs Jacobs and Mr Cannon.
