Uniform Guide for academic year 2016-17
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your support regarding uniform over this academic year. As you know, we take uniform very seriously at Neatherd. A quick reminder, before the summer holidays (when uniform is often purchased for the year ahead) of our uniform rules.
We have had issues this year around skirt length, so here is a clear, timely reminder of the rules around skirts. They must be knee length (on top of the knee) and not tight. We recommend that students go to Birds to get skirts fitted where they are fully aware of our rules and work closely with us. However, we also understand that some parents (for various reasons) will sometimes want to shop elsewhere, which is fine. To help ensure that skirt length is enforced, we require from this September that every skirt has the Neatherd Shield sewn on to it. The Neatherd Shield can be purchased at Birds even if the skirt is from another shop for £3.50 and Birds will check the length. Birds ask that the child is present for this fitting.
A reminder that we are happy to help financially with any families who are encountering particular short-term hardship. We also have a stock of second hand uniform, including shoes to help students in crisis situations or when uniform needs replacing just before a holiday.
All students wear
The school blazer.
A pale blue, button up to the neck, blouse/shirt (not denim), suitable to be tucked in.

Black or brown, formal shoes (backless shoes are not permitted, along with trainers, plimsolls and Ugg style boots).

Either a plain navy or black tailored knee length skirt, OR plain navy or black full length trousers. NO figure hugging, tight, skinny trousers or leggings.

After the Easter holiday, a pale blue three button t-shirt with the Neatherd school shield on it in red may be worn in place of the shirt and tie. If students are cold, a blazer (and NOT another kind of jacket or sweatshirt) should be worn over the school polo shirt. Alternatively, students are free to continue wearing full winter uniform.
