Summer Spice Cook Off
Last night saw the largest and most successful Food for Life event of the year take place, our summer spice themed cook off. We had 8 teams competing and this only raised the standard of the meals being cooked. None of the meals were overpowered with spices which was fantastic news for the judges! All of the pupils who took part were absolutely fantastic, if you see them around school please ask them for their secret recipes!
The winner of the evening was Julie Fitt’s Carter team consisting of Elsie Anderson – McDermott, Ellie Dolan and Ella Barnard. They showed valuable teamwork skills which paid off with their homemade tortilla nachos and guacamole complimenting their lettuce leaf fajitas, with a quorn and red pepper filling. They earnt themselves a bar of chilli chocolate each for their victory. All participants in the top 4 went home with a jar of hot sauce, the 4 runners up had a share bag of spicy plantain crisps as consolation.
