Dereham Neatherd High School

Dereham Neatherd High School

Traditional, Inclusive, Supportive

Multi-academy Trust Lead School Status

It is our intention to apply to the Department for Education for approval for Neatherd to become an Academy and, at the same time, to become a sponsoring body in a Multi-academy Trust (MAT) covering Dereham and the surrounding mid-Norfolk area.

This exciting opportunity comes at an ideal time for Neatherd. The very good report we received following our recent Ofsted inspection visit, coupled with the outstanding GCSE results achieved by our year 11 students in 2015, enable us to put ourselves forward with confidence to become a sponsoring body, in effect being the lead school in a MAT.

The essential character of Neatherd as an inclusive, comprehensive school will remain intact: the name, uniform and ethos will be unchanged; the Head of Neatherd will remain the Head and will continue to teach. Teaching standards will not be compromised in any way.

We invite you to attend a meeting, to be held at the school on Monday, 25th January at 7.00pm when we will present our proposals, answer any questions you have and listen to your comments. In order that we have an idea of numbers, we would be very grateful if you could please register your interest in attending here.

Although you are welcome to ask questions on the day, we would be glad to receive questions or comments by email in advance of the meeting, addressed to hds@neatherd.org

Please see this letter from the Chair of Governors, Gill Spillman, for further information.
