Year 7 Geography trip to Wells/Overstrand - Wednesday 25th November 2015
As an integral part of the Year 7 curriculum we are arranging a field study trip to the North Norfolk Coast (Wells and Overstrand). The purpose of this visit is to enhance students’ learning about coastal processes, with particular reference to the methods used to protect the region. All students will be issued with a booklet which guides their understanding, observations and recording of information. This will then be used as a follow-up in the classroom.
We ask for a parental contribution of £6.50 per pupil towards the cost of transport and insurance. Please note that the visit may not go ahead unless sufficient contributions are received. Payments can be made using you ParentPay account by Wednesday 18th November at the very latest. Please login to your account and select the appropriate payment. Those choosing not to use this system should make cheques payable to Dereham Neatherd High School and take to the payment collection area (outside Business 1) during Thursday morning break (11.10am-11.25am) only. (Note this is the only day we can receive cheque payments. Please bear this in mind when meeting deadlines). Cash is no longer accepted in school.
In response to LEA guidelines regarding Educational Visits and Journeys, we require consent for your child to take part in this visit. For this trip consent can be given via your ParentPay account. Please see the details overleaf regarding the consent given. You will be required to provide an emergency contact number for the day in question and also any medical details. If you are unable to use your ParentPay account to give consent or parental contribution please contact the admin office to obtain a paper copy of the consent which will need completing, signing and returning by the 8th November. Please note that your son/daughter will not be able to take part in this trip unless this is completed in full and returned to Finance Office.
Would you also please ensure that your son/daughter is suitably dressed on the day for whatever the weather has to offer (school uniform is not required) and sound footwear is essential. This will be a full day field study with coaches leaving school at 8:55 and returning to school by 15:25 in time for students to catch their normal transport home. Pupils should bring a packed lunch and a drink – no glass bottles please. A packed lunch will be provided for those pupils in receipt of free school meals.
If you have any questions or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
