Year 10 Exams

Dear Parent / Carers,

Year 10 Exams

Year 10 students are already half of their way through their GCSEs. This time next year they will be just a week away from the start or their formal GCSE exams. The Year 10 exams are rapidly approaching and we would like to offer some additional support to students and parents at this challenging time. Each year we see that students who study hard and achieve well in their Year 10 exams go on to repeat this success in their real GCSEs. We also know that every year there are students who want to know how best to revise and parents who would like to know how they can support their children in the lead up to exams.

For this reason we will be hosting a Raising Achievement Evening on Tuesday 23rd May for all Year 10 students and their parents/carers. During the evening there will be a range of short sessions full of information on how students should be preparing for their exams. Sessions arranged are:

  • Organising yourself
  • Getting the most out of your memory
  • Tried and tested revision strategies
  • Preparing for GCSE English
  • Preparing for GCSE Maths
  • Preparing for GCSE Science
  • Mindfulness and staying healthy during exams

We will also have students available throughout the evening who completed their GCSEs this year to talk, answer questions, offer advice and give practical tips.

The evening will begin at 6pm in the canteen. All sessions will be 15 minutes with the evening ending at 8pm. All of our Senior Leadership Team will be present to answer any questions you might have.

We look forward to seeing you on the evening.

Yours sincerely
