Summer School 2017

Dear Parent/Carer

Neatherd Summer School:  21st - 24th August 2017

Thank you for your application for your child(ren) to attend this year’s Summer School.  I am pleased to inform you that your application has been successful and I enclose some further information.

As stated in a previous letter, Summer School will run from Monday 21st to Thursday 24th August; we will begin at 08.45am every day prompt each day, and will finish at 12.30pm. The Canteen will be open from 8.15am and we would like students to arrive by 8.30am. Upon arrival at the school each day, pupils should go to the canteen, where they will be registered. If your child would like to bring any breakfast with them, they will be welcome to eat it between 08.15am and 08.45am. If your child is entitled to Pupil Premium funding, a free breakfast will be provided.

The overall theme of the Summer School will be “Carnival” and the children can look forward to many fun activities, including a Circus workshop. Pupils should wear clothing that is comfortable and suitable for Art and PE activities. We will provide a drink and a snack, free of charge, during the morning break. Children should be collected from the canteen promptly at 12.30pm. If you wish for your child to be allowed to leave by himself/herself, please notify me in person on the first morning.

At the first registration, children will be issued with their name badges which will act as a ‘clocking in and out’ system, and will be returned to the registration table each day, to be collected the following morning and worn throughout the day.

If for any reason your child is unable to attend on a particular day, please inform me on 07739 339130. This is the mobile number on which I will be available throughout Summer School, should you need to contact me in an emergency.

Lastly, we would like you to complete the “Parental Consent form for Summer School” and return it to Marion Broughton, Summer School Co-ordinator, in order to provide us with relevant health information and emergency contact numbers.  Please include a recent passport sized photograph of your child with this form for ease of identification in case of emergencies. Please note that this doesn’t have to be an “official passport photo”, but could also be a recent photo printed on paper.

Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Broughton, by phone on 01362 697981 or by e-mail - Marion_broughton@neatherd.org - should you require any further information from the school in the meantime.  We look forward to seeing you on Monday 21st August.

Yours sincerely,

Mr N O’Brien
