School Uniform - Girls' Skirts
Dear Parents/ Carers,
We think that uniform is a really important part of being at Neatherd and we have very high standards. We believe that good uniform helps students focus on work, improves school identity and can reduce bullying. We also think that looking smart prepares students for adult life and being in the workplace or going to formal occasions.
How the students wear uniform has improved greatly over the last year and standards have been very high at the start of this academic year. We have had some concerns however about the skirts some of our girls are wearing. We remind you, (as per our website and student planner) that skirts should be around the knee or just above the knee in length and tailored (not stretchy or too tight) or appropriate trousers (again, not too tight).
We would be really grateful if parents could ensure that girls have skirts that meet this criteria by the time we return after half-term. If students are incorrectly dressed we will have to remove them from circulation in community time until it is improved. Our girls have been given an assembly by Mrs Jacobs on this and shown examples of appropriate/ inappropriate skirts. As ever, if you are struggling financially to replace any items of clothing, please contact Mr Thorpe (House Support Officer) or the Head of House to see if we can support you.
