Parent Portal / SIMS Parent App Update
Dear Parent / Carer,
The Neatherd Parent Portal is being replaced by a new Capita product: SIMS Parent App. It offers the same information as the Parent Portal, but in an easier to use form. There is also a smart phone app (for Android and Apple phones) available for free from the Google Play and Apple App stores.
This new website and app will allow you to “tie” your logon details to your Microsoft (Hotmail, Live, Office 365, or Outlook, for example) account, Google (Gmail) account, Twitter or Facebook accounts. If you don’t have an account from these providers, you can set one up with Capita SIMS instead. Tying your account like this will mean password resets will be a thing of the past!
Additionally, because the Parent App is designed for smart phones and other mobile devices, it will work better on those than the Parent Portal did. We are aware some devices would not allow you to log on to the Parent Portal – this shouldn’t be a problem as you can now use the smart phone app instead.
We will begin sending out – by email - registration details, more information, and instructions from Monday 24th September. If you have already requested Parent Portal logon details these will be moved to Parent App logon requests instead. You won’t need to request them again.
If you already have a Parent Portal logon, this will continue to work for the time being, but you will be sent Parent App logon details anyway. PLEASE NOTE: The logon details for Parent Portal will not work on SIMS Parent App or vice versa. They are two separate services.
If you have requested a logon, but have not received it via email by the end of September, please make sure you have checked your junk mail folder and that the school has the correct email account for you on record.
Finally, this changeover to SIMS Parent App does not affect any other school service logons you may have. Your details for ParentPay, for example, will not change.
