Head of House: Miss Powell-Bowns

Our House is named after Howard Carter and the students voted for a motto to reflect his achievements. Our motto is therefore ‘Strive to Discover’.

Howard Carter was the renowned Archaeologist and Egyptologist who made the exciting discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun in 1922. It took him years to find the tomb and yet even with a distinct lack of support and, against the odds he persevered.  Eventually his dedication and patience was rewarded by this magnificent discovery.

As a house we believe in the ethos that anything is possible and that once you realise ‘that the only stopping you is you’, you can achieve great things. We use our motto to remind us that we should never give up trying and always aspire to do our best.

Our House is very proud to have strong student leadership with members of the House Council, the Student Council and Head people.  We are proud to have the Head Girl in our House – Emily Jessop, who is a shining example of the values and ethos of our school.

Our valuable team of tutors are dedicated to guiding our students through their school years and delivering comprehensive mentoring and support to enable the best possible outcomes.  Their dedication to our students, is always, at the fore, whether that be in the role of mentor, a listening ear or joining them in team competitions within school.

Our House passionately believe in the will to succeed and in joining our House only your very best will do.
