Gill Spillman
I have been a Governor at Dereham Neatherd High School for 10 years and Chair of Governors for the last 4 years. Both of my children were educated at Neatherd and have gone on to gain degrees at university. I am dedicated to driving the school forward to outstanding, so that every child that attends the school is given the chance to achieve their full potential.

Dr Jean Vickers
Formerly a Director of Public Health, Jean Vickers retired to Norfolk in 2009 to be closer to her family. During her career, she accumulated a wealth of experience providing for the health and welfare of young people. This background stands her in good stead as a school governor.

Andy Long
I was a parent Governor from 2006 as my two sons passed through Neatherd High School on the way to Dereham Sixth Form and then onto university. Currently I am a LEA Governor and also sit on the Resources Committee dealing with all aspects of premises, finance, and health and safety. My Link Governor role gives me good insight into the Maths and Data departments including observing lessons and seeing how teaching has changed since I was a pupil. My job role as partner in a Market Research agency provides me with good experience into some of the challenges faced by being a school Governor, especially with the vast amount of data available due to modern teaching/marking/monitoring initiatives.

David Allen
As a Parent Governor at Dereham Neatherd High school, I bring over 10 years' experience as a Governor at both primary and junior school level. From my career I have a broad experience of Management, Finance, HR, Education and Audit. I currently have two sons attending the high school and take a strong interest in the School’s academic standards. Outside of work I enjoy all sports especially rugby, football and golf.

Martin Lambert
I joined Dereham Neatherd High School as an LEA governor at the beginning of 2010. I have over 20 years' experience of working in the public and private sector in finance and management services roles. I have experience of business planning, budgeting, pay modelling and negotiations, job evaluation and grading and corporate governance. I look forward to utilizing these skills as a member of the Governing Body.

Ron Steward
My working life was spent in the Agricultural and Industrial supply industries. This experience has enabled me to understand different points of view and hopefully lead to satisfactory conclusions. In retirement I have been more active in Dereham Rotary Club being President in 2002-3. I am a Church Warden at Scarning Church and a Trustee of Scarning Village Hall. My experience during my working life and in retirement give me confidence to lead an active role as a Governor of Neatherd High School.

Vince Warren
As a parent Governor, I am passionate about ensuring that Dereham Neatherd High School excels and provides an outstanding learning experience for all pupils. I am a Civil Engineer and construction professional with 25 years experience in designing and managing road, rail, environmental, and commercial building projects. I currently have 2 daughters at NHS, and a son who will enrol in 2016. My hobbies include Cycling, Football (although reduced to watching my son play these days), Surfing (as a former Beach Lifeguard) and Motorsport.

Bruce Hubbard
I am a parent Governor with two boys at the school and a son who benefitted from transferring to the SRB unit from another school and is now progressing well at City College. I want all prospective parents to know how caring and supportive this school is, regardless of their child's need or ability.

Susan Ferguson
Susan Ferguson has eighteen years’ previous experience as a School Governor and is delighted to have returned to the Neatherd Governing Body after a six year break. Her two grown up daughters attended Neatherd High School and Dereham Sixth Form before going to University. Susan’s original career was in structural engineering but she spent the sixteen years to the end of 2015 running a management consultancy organisation in partnership with her husband. Apart from residual administrative responsibilities she is now retired from business and is happy to provide whatever support she can to the School.

Sally Sanderson
I joined the staff of Neatherd High School as Head of Creative Arts in 2008 and became a staff governor in January 2016. I decided that I wanted to become a teacher at the age of 10, initially in the primary sector. However, I developed such a passion for English and expressive arts as an undergraduate that I decided to focus on my subject specialisms rather than becoming a general classroom teacher. I qualified in 1990 and my enthusiasm for the arts has grown year on year. Both of my children attend the school and I feel extremely privileged to be part of a learning community that comprises talented students, dedicated colleagues and supportive parents. I became a governor so that I could become more fully involved in the life of the school.

Alex Bucher
I am a Co –Opted Governor and I am keen to share my experience and give something back to the local community and the school. Currently I have over 20 years’ experience as a Police Officer working in a wide varity of roles in Norfolk and I have extensive knowledge of collaborative working with colleagues from Suffolk Police. From my work I have good partnership knowledge with a wide range of public bodies: Local NHS, Norfolk Fire Service, Norfolk & Suffolk County Councils and Local District / Borough Councils. I am a married with two children, who are currently at a local primary school.
